The Australia New Zealand Trauma Registry (ANZTR) is a collaboration of contributing major trauma centers.

Our Mission

Using combined trauma data, the ANZTR aims to improve the quality of trauma care and support trauma quality improvement in Australia and New Zealand.

OBJECTIVES

The ANZTR aims to:

  • Continue its development as a leading clinical quality registry (CQR) by providing risk-adjusted outcomes and moving toward population-based data capture of major trauma across Australia and New Zealand;

  • Promote the use of high-quality bi-national trauma data by researchers to demonstrate the usefulness of the trauma data being collected for trauma care quality improvement and improved patient outcome;

  • Share information and combine efforts in trauma quality improvement;

  • Reduce duplication of effort, improve efficiency through data linkage;

  • Continually monitor and improve the data collection variables via the registry data working group to ensure the registry remains relevant and viable into the future;

  • Allow contributing trauma centres to accurately compare their performance with other centres (through risk-adjusted benchmarking) via the ANZTR portal (in development).
